Hearing Tests

Healthy living involves taking care of your hearing. Consider all the sounds that surround you on a given day: birds chirping, a family member laughing, the oven timer beeping, or your favorite movie. Hearing empowers us and connects us with people and the world around us. Hearing loss is invisible and usually painless, so many people fail to realize when it is happening. Hearing tests allow us to examine just what you may (or may not) be hearing. Let us help you celebrate sound with better hearing.

Hearing Aids

One of the first signs of hearing loss you may notice is that people seem to not speak as clearly as they used to. You may begin to ask for repetition and may even criticize others for mumbling. You may find that you are withdrawing from social situations. The television may become a source of dispute within the family, as they complain of the volume being too loud. Hearing aids help bring back volume and clarity. When we hear our best, life is more enjoyable as we are able to hear the sounds of laughter, music, nature, and conversations with family and friends.

Cerumen Management

The presence of cerumen, also called earwax, in the ear canal is a normal and healthy phenomenon. Cerumen is a waxy material in the outer ear canal produced by sebaceous glands. Cerumen lubricates and protects the ear canal by moisturizing the skin and shielding dust, dirt, infection, and foreign bodies from the eardrum. Accumulation of cerumen is usually asymptomatic but can occasionally cause bothersome symptoms, such as hearing loss, increased tinnitus, or ear discomfort.
